The Track
The track’s internal dimensions measure 32m x 26m. The straight is on the opposite side to the rostrum. The rest of the layout includes small jumps, sweeping corners, tight corners, ‘step-up’ style jumps and large ‘big-air’ style jumps near the rostrum side; overall a good mix of features with total visibility. The tracks internal markers are white piping with carpeted infield for a better contrast, apex markers will be concrete kerb in red/white. It runs anti-clockwise
Fastest lap time of the top drivers when the track it at its fastest (slight blue grooved) is 24 seconds, a realistic lap-time is 25-26 seconds, this will be increased however with track changes and extensions. The track drives well either dry or slightly damp, we prefer to run it dry though for consistency throughout the heats. We are planning to carpet some of the jump faces to allow consistency for a weeks worth of racing.
Rain Contingency
The track has two 35m x 20m thick tarpaulin rain covers, which with 5 people or more can be pulled on in less than a minute. They can be removed from the track in 3 minutes with 5 or more people.
The rostrum is 9.2 metres wide, 2.5m deep, 2.65m high at foot height with a rear sloping roof for water run-off, it has permanent power and speaker points behind the drivers. A 160 unit transmitter compound is located on the rear of the rostrum behind where the drivers stand to race for easy retrieval, as are 2 x large shelving units for results monitors etc. Access is via one set of steps to the rear, we aim to have 2 sets by the Euros.
A glazed unit is situated underneath the rostrum with power, speaker points, large windows - a large flat screen monitor will placed at the windows so mechanics can see live lap times from the raised decking and seating area directly under the drivers stand.
The track is surrounded by astroturf walkways and steel personnell barriers.
Spectator viewing is possible on all sides.
We have 200 seated capacity for spectators via 4 x 50 seat aluminium tiered units.
Race control will be adjacent to the start of the straight, the timing loops will be 1/3 of the way down the straight.
